What's the worst thing that happened to you in-game?
Share your own sad stories, and let's have a laugh or rage over it.
I'll start, today, i got scammed with a fake pink dye service.
Result? Lost my Leet Kurzick armor. I hope banhammer strikes that unhappy SOB.

The worst thing? hmmmmmmmm. I have made some good friends in this game but one person I wish I never met. He creates drama out of thin air and seem to encircle it around me. This person does this when I am not even on for days at a time. He constantly creates more and more problems and yet the people I am friends with still want him around.
The worst thing that ever happened to me in this game was the first time I met this 40 year old douche.

Hmm...lets see...meeting this guy in game...He was a friend of my best friend in there, and just meeting that guy has been a living hell. Each time I logged on, he came up to me with a scheme to get money.
For example, one of his plans was that a friend was going to give him a mini polar bear for 250 ectos (if he gave them to his friend in a week tops). He said that if I help him farm those 250e, then he would sell it for a lot more and split the profits with me...told him no continuously for about 2-3 days (long time ago, can't/don't want to remember); then I said yes, farmed for a day, got about 10e, kept them and ignored him.
On more than one occasion he has lied to me about having his account hacked. One time, he said it was hacked and he asked for my tormented shield so he could wear it around and show it off (I was around...14-15 at the time, so...I guess kind of stupid..idk) and I lent it to him. He comes to me a few days later and said he accidently sold it to someone (how do you "accidently" sell something? Accidently merching it...understandable...to another player, I'm not buying that).
Anyways, he constantly asked me to ask my girlfriend to give him money, kept bugging for help/money, never really gave me any peace. That guy has been a LIVING NIGHTMARE....put him on my ignore list a few years back and he's still on there...![Devil](../Img/devil.gif) ![Devil](../Img/devil.gif) ![Devil](../Img/devil.gif)
By the way, one excuse he LOVED to use was that his dad was in the hospital and asked if I could help him with various things (trying to get sympathy for nothing I suppose? I don't know, but he sure did use this A LOT).........
Edit: Sorry about adding his name, I took it down now...was around 4 last night that I wrote this and I didn't think about that... :/

Man these are pretty good stories. Worst thing that happened to me is kind of boring by comparison. I accidentally merched a near-complete stack of black dye (didn't have the bag they were in unselected at merch). Fortunately, at the time, black dye was on the low end of its value spectrum. It doesn't make it any better of course, but I still tell myself that to maintain my sanity.

Being part of an HA guild, getting sent to boarding school, coming back to see everyone with phoenix. sob. This was 07-09, I could only play on holidays when I went home.
All sorted now, but jesus was it funny for them.
Apart from that, I used to enjoy the drama in RA. But that was a daily struggle. Nowadays however, I'd rather be forced to land a stricken plane than press Enter Battle in that hellhole ever again.
EDIT: Two posts above me, you really should remove his IGN from your post...

haha, i wish i could see that. ![Stick Out Tongue](../Img/tongue.gif)
as for me...the worst thing that prolly happened was having my account wiped by a friend 'hacker' because of some past grievances.
other than that, a sad thing might also be my past pc was too shitty to get into gvg when vD started off which was the only chance i'd probably be willing to grab in order to get into gvging.

Mine's rather boring. I tried to vanquish the Morostav Trail. Nearly completed it TWICE (~5 kills remaining) when I was kicked from the server. That was ~2 hours I'll never get back >.>

In the days before Courier Falkan was nerfed, I, along with many people, ran it often. I had full heroes/henchies, so drops weren't exactly my concern.
Then, near the end of a run, something unbelievable happened.
A mini Confessor Isaiah dropped for me.
I was so excited. I'm not sure how much they're worth not, but at the time, they were worth ~600e. I have never seen that much money in GW. The most I've ever had was ~20e. This was the single greatest thing to happen to me in GW. I couldn't believe my luck.
Two days later, I was hacked and cleaned out.
Talk about timing...
The worst part was, I didn't just lose my valuables. I lost EVERYTHING, regardless of value. Everything that was tradeable was traded away, and everything that wasn't (like zcoins and medals of honor etc) was DELETED. When I got my account back, every single slot was empty, and every single character was naked and weaponless, and all of the heroes across all of the characters had been stripped of both their runes and weapons, even the ones who still had the crappy customized weapons that are automatically on them when you first acquire them!
I mean, they took shit they couldn't use, like my books and my customized, yet unmodded, tormented staff (can't be sold to merchants or players, can't be salvaged, and no mods to salvage) and whatnot. Of course, a lot of stuff was irreplaceable, like the incubator kit (you can only get one per character), my monk's 5al starter armor, and my huge collection of worthless shinies.
But even with all of that crap lost, the worst thing was getting a once-in-a-lifetime drop, then instantly being robbed of it.
And that, my friends, is my tale of woe.
(for the record, I haven't gotten a single WiK drop of any kind, minus confessor's orders, before or since the Isaiah).

I was selling something in Kamadan and some little turd-ball didn't like the price I was asking so he decided to start spamming in all-chat trying to get people to report me for hacking. I reported him for harrassment and put him on ignore. Oh! Sorry! That's probably one of the worst things that ever happened to him, since he's the one that got put in "time-out" by A-Net. ![Smile](../Img/smile.gif)
Self-inflicted: I merched an Elemental Sword. It was about a week after NF was released when they were worth 600 - 700 p (or more) and everyone wanted one.

Edit - on re-reading the OP, it is referring to in-game (now?), although it doesn't specify what game. ![Big Grin](../)
Or are you only talking about Guild Wars - in which case nothing was that bad. I did (while drunk and/or stoned) try to remove the string off of my Tormented Shortbow with an Expert Salvage kit. I still have the string, but not the bow.

A while ago... 2-3 years or more it was still here. Observing HoH fight u could see warriors having a punch-out while ppl where doing stuff completely ignoring them, was rather amusing and funny to watch, little fact, no one ever died doing this i think, at least not when i was observing.
BTW, sorry to hear that Quaker.

Worst thing is really scammed back in the day when I was trying to get a droks run back when wars were the only runners. Also making a trade with someone through a private message on guru that is really just more because it was annoying because they were talking high req taking a bit off from the pc I got and stuff never gonna try to be nice like that just because of annoyance on that trade.

My husband and I used to only share one laptop for our two guild wars accounts, so we would give our information to guildies during things like festivals or some dungeons, etc. Logged on to my elementalist one day after not being on for a few months, and found that 250e and a q11 caster VS were gone (that I had deliberately not kept in my chest). No armor was salvaged, no other weapons/items/materials were taken, so the person had a LITTLE sympathy. Obviously this is our fault, but it was still a sad day.
